I just read in Sexually Transmitted Diseases: A Physician Tells You What You Need to Know that seeking STD testing with your healthcare provider can make getting health insurance in the future difficult or impossible (even if you test negative for all tests) because you are labeled "high risk" just by the fact that you had those tests done.
Has anyone else encountered this?
I thought STD testing was so routine nowadays that getting them through your doctor would not pose a problem. 
The book was published in 2007 so maybe by now things have changed.
