Rockford Art Museum (RAM) will present a free lecture at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, by Mark Bond and Frank Tumino. The lecture is in conjunction with RAM?s Full Circle: Little City Foundation exhibition.
Bond is a local artist and art teacher at Easter Seals Autism Therapeutic School Rockford, and Frank Tumino is studio arts manager of the Center for the Arts at Little City Foundation.
The lecture is part of the related educational programming for RAM?s feature exhibition Full Circle: Little City Foundation, on view through Jan. 6, 2013.
The Center for the Arts at Little City Foundation in Palatine, Ill., has long recognized that creativity knows no boundaries. For more than 20 years, this dynamic organization has empowered and challenged people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through its innovative fine art program.
RAM?s Full Circle celebrates the notable achievements of these gifted, but often unrecognized, Little City artists, and explores the ways in which they use art to communicate. Their talents in outsider art and other genres include painting, sculpture and video.
Full Circle: Little City Foundation is organized by RAM, guest curated by Patty Rhea.
RAM is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. The museum is open daily, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Regular admission is $7 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, free for children 11 and younger, and free for museum members. Donation Day is every Tuesday.
