Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has criticised US President Barack Obama for tying aid for African countries to the decriminalisation of homosexuality.
Mugabe made the comments whilst addressing thousands of Zanu PF supporters on Tuesday.
He said:??Obama this man born of an African father and a white mother told us that US can only provide financial aid if we accepted homosexuality as a country.?
Going on to say that Zimbabwe would never legalise homosexuality, he said:??No gay couples could have children even if you lock them up for five years in a house.?
?We have to take these seats back even if it means taking them from the python that swallowed them in the last election,? he continued.
Mugabe has previously referred to gay people as being ?worse than dogs and pigs.?
In 2005, Prince Charles drew controversy in Britain when he shook hands with him at the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
Back in May,?Morgan Tsvangirai, Zimbabwe?s prime minister was criticised by gay rights campaigners in the country for denouncing homosexuality and reportedly saying marriage ?should be between a man and a?woman.?
